Thanks Sylvester. I always revert to the Gin Martina, but went for a few different ones to get started. The Bel Ami is an ice cream cocktail - the only one in the book that I recall - made it for the first time tonight and its a winner!

Well since I had popped the cork on the champers, it seemed silly not to: The Chartreuse Temptation:

This cocktail was created by Douglas Ankrah at LAB bar in London. Nowadays you can get it at most places in the capital.
Porn Star Martini

measures are in:OZMLShots.
1½ fresh Passion fruit
2 shot Ketel One Vodka (infused with vanilla)
½ shot Passoã passion fruit liqueur
½ shot Freshly squeezed lime juice
½ shot Monin Vanilla sugar syrup
3 shot Brut champagne

Method: SCOOP the seeds and flesh of passion fruit into base of shaker. Add next four ingredients (all but champagne), SHAKE with ice and fine strain into chilled glass. Separately, POUR champagne into chilled shot glass to serve on the side.
The one problem with this cocktail, it costs a lot of wonga.

Thanks GHT. Looks very sweet. I would have thought the champagne should be mixed with the main drink, but can see why he suggested separate.

Well I couldn't simply make a comparison to the Manhattan without empirically testing them alongside each other now could I? The result was quite surprising as you can read at the following link. The Manhattan Dry wins for me.

Cocktail No 16 Classic Daiquiri. I had no choice after comparing the Fireman's Sour to the classic to go and mix one and make the comparison. The Fireman's is good but the Daiquiri is excellent - so, so good. Why they screw it up be making frozen and fruit ones is a mystery to me.
