What contemporary stores or lines do people here shop at? I don't have the time or knowledge of stores to go vintage, but I far prefer older styles and tailoring to what's available in most stores today.

Brooks Brothers has a lot of classic patterns and looks, though the quality of the fabrics and the cuts are not up to vintage standards. J Press has been called a "sartorial museum," and is a good source for 50s-60s WASP Ivy League styles--sack suits, bowties and the like. J Crew, while solidly fashion-forward, often does vintage-inspired looks.
