A sad story his. Losing his young child, a year later his wife... may he rest in peace and his music never be forgotten.

Such a damned shame. The same cancer took Gord Downie of Canadian band The Tragically Hip two years ago. Awful to think of it.

He was still one of my music heroes. Lucky enough to see Rush 11 times from 1976 till last tour.

Morgan Wooten, Hall of Fame high school basketball coach, at 88.

High school coach? Yes. Wooten coached DeMatha High School from 1956 - 2002, accumulating a record of 1,274-192, which lands him in second place. He coached 13 future NBA stars including Adrian Dantley. In 1984, USA Today named him coach of the year, the same year his team became national champions.

Well known & liked British TV & radio presenter & sometimes actor, Nicholas Parsons, popped his clogs yesterday (28th) after a short illness, at the ripe old age of 96. He was still working up until last august.

One of the last greats of the Golden Era, Kirk Douglas, has passed away aged 103. I'll always think of him as Spartacus, though he starred in so many great films like ultimate noir Out of the Past, Paths of Glory, and he played Doc Holliday in Gunfight at the OK Corral; I had the last one on VHS tape years ago.

I enjoyed Spartacus very much. Less of a fan of Douglas, but I can't help wodnering if now the truth about Jean Spangler will come out.
