Go ahead, make fun of me. :) I'm sure Ana, my daughters, and my golfing partners will.
I've been looking for a bright red hat for a while, but the ones available were wool or otherwise low-quality.
Ignacio can make this Borsalino Qualità Suprema more manly.
Someone put up a hell of a fight for it.

The hat I get the most complements on is red. Everybody should have at least one.

I'll be happy to make fun of you, Max, and the hat will have nothing to do with it! :D:D

A red hat...December...you think Max might really be the "Big Man" from the North Pole?

I’m Thankful no one else wanted to bid on this. I don’t know if it was the wrinkles in the crown and ribbon that should steam out or that it was titled as a derby/bowler but either way I’ve had my eye on a St Regis and I’m thankful this one fell into my hands.

Happy Thanksgiving

Royal De Luxe Stetson St Regis

it arrived a bit wonky at the base of the crown. set out with a nice boiling pot and got to work. I think it shaped up nicely

I’m not sure what cause the misshapen crown. Could have been a slight shrinking of the sweat.. but I don’t think so as the size seemed fine. The ribbon was actually slightly stretched out with the crinkle. Though I think it possible the ribbon had been replaced or reattached at some point as the ribbon stitches go through the liner. You can see some of it at the top of this photo.

In the end... I’m gonna go with. Stacking... as the culprit for the weird shape. Seems as plausible a reason as any. But whatever the reason. It’s mostly gone now.

Really happy with this one

Beautiful, Joe. Classic colours and a nice tall crown.

Very nice for the first vintage. Now you will get HAS as bad as the rest of us!

Well, finally own a vintage hat. Not sure whom I was bidding against, I think I paid a bit much for it, but oh well.

an Adam Fenmore in a nice dark brown. Appears to have a new sweat, and there are two small moth nips. Overall, a pretty nice hat. Could use a cleaning and a steaming.

The Ermine only lasted about 5 minutes before one of you snapped it up and beat me to the punch! Dang it!
It was me. I had already come to a verbal agreement with the seller, who had listed it in auction for 50 dollars, so he added a 500 dollar buy it now. Someone snatched it from me just as I was paying for it, but luckily the seller is an honorable guy, and honored our verbal.
I gave him an extra 500 to thank him for keeping his word

Wow, you got lucky. What an incredible find. I'll bet it cleans up beautifully. None of those stains look very bad. That auction only lasted about 5 minutes!!! I was trying to buy it now myself, but by the time I hit the button, it told me it had sold already! I never even got to the final screen! LOL My wife WOULD HAVE KILLED ME... but I'd have done it anyway.
