Please, Mr. Brunswick! How strange, at the moment I feel a bit like Frank Shaw. Quick, Henry, the Kipling! That's better, I'm all right, I'm all right!
Austin is a great place to live; it was second only to southern Oregon as places on my list to retire to. (So how in the hell did I wind up in southern Ohio?) Austin has only one major disadvantage: there is so much Texas around it! Cheers, Tom
Austin is a cool place to visit. I'd never want to live there though...the traffic is terrible. As for there being a lot of Texas around it...yep. But for all the stereotyping, it's a lot like anywhere else. It's a nice place, and so was Georgia when I lived there. I've been to most of the other states too and I liked them well enough. I try not to dog on other states, I just happen to like mine a bit more is all.
Well, I know it's changed a lot since I was stationed there at Bergstrom Air Force Base. The last time I visited there was over 10 years ago. But I still have friends there, and need to get down there for a visit.
Smiley came to my grade school in 1955 and called me out of the audiance in the gym to rope a burro. How about THAT..!!
Oh geez! That would have been cool for a child back in the day. Then again, my son would be thrilled even now. We watch the Durango series together. One of my favorite novelty songs he sings is:
