I just received some swatches, one of them the brown shinki pony. Next to these other browns (Eastman a1, elmc havana californian, aero seal Vicenza), you can tell it has some Burgundy undertones. It's a pull-up leather which I think will age beautifully. Perfect for my next halfbelt project.

That's a really beautiful shade there Marc. I would say that shade of brown is close to my "perfect" shade of mid brown.

I guess I should update this thread with Greg's first attempt of a detachable mouton collar. Good thing he had to remake my jacket so he is able to use the spare one for research and practice. He looked into different makers construction of the collar but looks like the original buco construction is what works best.

The dull brass snap is hardly noticeable And blends well with the fur

Details of snap button placement and mouton collar construction

Love how he reinforced the collar backing, lovely stitchwork with the double row stitches.

When I request a detachable collar next time, I'll have him replicate a Cal CHP collar design/construction/snap placement. They still look the cleanest and most incognito.

That's going to look cool, that will be cool to see for Greg to make a mouton collar for a jacket like this. My upcoming Thedi will look similar to this too without the chest pocket

Thanks man! It really is beautifully made and the detachable collar option will make it easier to pair with brown/black boots
