Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I was following this one. Seller recently sent out an offer for $125 and $5 shipping. It looks a bit janky.

 

I agree, some fixes needed. Luckily, only restitching at some points. I hate when belt loops are removed! $130 is a good deal imo.

I had both of these saved as well. Facebook marketplace has some good deals if you can take the time to search! The filters and search tools have been really awful in my experience.

 

I’ve been looking for a grey Vanson cross zip in my size for years. They are very cool.

 

Yes, especially the location filter: 2700 miles search would be nice.

You think so? It's a Cal with zippers and lining replacement to me. There's no fur on cuffs, that's why I think lining was replaced, but epaulettes shape, gusset shoulders, belt area stitching, upside down belt loops and hide are specific to their vtg jackets (not the modern ones).

 

You're right, it probably is a Cal. I didn't take a close look, but all the zippers being new + some of the pictures didn't really look like Cal to me. The stitching for the chest pockets and the belt loop configuration make it look more likely.

 

man that looks pretty darn close to a Cal. I don't have any with epaulettes. Interesting that the middle belt loop in the back is offset. Not sure if a mistake or on purpose design. None of mine have like that.

 

Just folded up, it's stitched in the right way.

Just saw this. Is this original or reproduction? Looks like new, but also looks original. I no nothing about this seller. I did look up this jacket on yahoo Japan and did not find it.

I just messaged the seller for confirmation on country of manufacture.

Snaps on internal pockets have Leathertogs lettering. My guess is a repro.

@tmitchell59 Everything (zippers, belt, plastic belt buckle, lining and leather) looks like a Freewheelers La Brea reproduction in very good condition but at very high price

This is worth the cost of Knit replacements........ at least if it can be had at a decent price. Low starting bid. Offers accepted. Leather seems to be in good shape. Smaller size--38. Someone could have a hell of a jacket here.
