I saw the seams under the arms on the front of the jacket and was confused by them, what is their purpose on a women's jacket?

To accommodate female anatomy by "puckering" the leather a bit in key areas. Most darts I've seen come down the front, but I guess you can put them under the arms too.

This is too cool. I wouldn't think a second if it wasn't in the UK. The measurements are BS, clearly. If the hem is 19-20+ inches, as clearly indicated by the ruler, the P2P has to be 23-24". Vanson's 42 is a TTS on the roomy side. You're good, I believe.
