Here’s a very nice jacket. Seller is responsive, I had passed due to sizing and some damage but it’s cool

This is pretty interesting. An old cop jacket, horse, metal chain looks like Fidelity, but could be something else. Is it possible that Fidelity made some cop jackets as special order? All Talon zippers, fake pocket flaps are a little weird, but overall a cool jacket.

My bet would be on Passaic as the maker. Passaic, being in your old home state, makes mainly NY/NJ cop jackets whereas I have only seen Boston PD jackets from Fidelity being they are from that area. Both do use that double separating zipper style and both have used the chain hanger tho Fidelity is more widely known for it due to the sheer volume of jackets we see from them. Both of them tho tend to have their chains riveted while this one you posted seems to be stitched in. But to me, Passaic is a distinct possibility.

Here is a vintage Passaic:

Yep, Passaic it is. I have Passaic in my searches. I saw an early cross zip from them and it was awesome. But only saw it once, must be pretty rare. The cafe racer with heavily slanted pockets is cool too.

Passaic is a good guess. Lots of makers made these spec’d and issued NYPDs— Miklos Sas and Skagerrac come to mind. All three made awesome jackets. There were more. Lots of NY cops.

Size 34"? Unwearable by 90% of the population over the age of 12...winning bidder has less than 100 transactions on ebay...$1,600? Imagine if that fell in the 40"-46" range, probably would've been double that. Something fishy about the cuffs. Maybe the auction too...
