As you say, it should flatten with a bit of wear & give a bit..nothing worse than a baggy vest
Received the G-1 remake today.
I like the leather much better than the first jacket. It has a completely different look, feel, and weight.
It feels softer, more supple, and the finish is less shiny...more matte. The grain appears different as well, it seems tighter and less pebbly. It weighs significantly more, .6lbs more which is substantial. Just altogether looks and feels higher quality than the first jacket. I am much happier with this leather. I asked for a heavier leather for this rebuild, the heaviest possible seal goat he had, and he delivered, but I wasn’t expecting such a big difference between the two because I also asked for the heaviest leather I could get on the first jacket. It’s night and day how much higher quality and better feeling this leather is in comparison.
All the other changes worked out pretty well to. The collar actually looks like the comparison photos I saw, the added neck length and body width fit better.
I still come up with different measurements when I measure the jacket vs the pics Shawn sent me, but at least this time the jacket does seem to fit pretty well.

This jacket is based on winter half belt with Californian collar and cuff (with small modification), Shawn nailed almost every request I sent to him, which is unbelievable.
I think he is ready for 6-7 oz Horween hide.

the deerskin trucker arrived today. My sister loves it, glad I was able to give it to her before she leaves after the holidays. The leather is fantastic, soft hand, lovely grain, drapes well, no strong chemical smell. It's so much nicer than the premium goatskin I received before. It might be their best leather yet. I'm ordering one for myself lol
