I have learned so much from you all. This resource is invaluable. Even being a relaive newcomer, having been here about a year, some observations:

The growth is a great thing! It means that interest in Golden Era sartorial matters, manners, dress, films, etc., is strong and we all see the resurgence of interest in hats and better dressing every day. I know I have made some great friends I hope will be long-lasting.

But geez - trying to search the threads for the smallest thing means searching PAGES of possible hits. :)

Just an observation, fresh from a search.

True. The more data that goes onto these pages, the more you have to weed through subjects that have nothing to do with what you want. Sometimes it's easier to go to Google and search for a Fedora Lounge topic

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...D:2004-05,GGLD:en&q=Quality+hat+fedora+lounge

In another year it will be even harder. We Bartenders need to start consolodating more posts to hold back on the repeated topics, and those posting topics need to be more discerning with the labeling of their threads so they can more easily be found.

The biggest flaw I see with the Search on the lounge is that you cannot link words.

Hatless Jack yields the same results as Hatless-Jack
You have to go advanced do a title search to easily find the thread.

The endeavor to compile all human knowledge is going well... the ability to find hwat you are looking for... well that's another issue.

Looking for anything in particular?

The only thing I find to be a hassle with the search is the inability to quote a string. For instance, sometimes I just remember a thread by someone's quote. So if I search for "asking the right kind of questions" it will not scan for that string. Any post with the word "the" will pull up.
