French Fly question

I recently purchased a pair of pants online, and the description indicated "french fly".
I was under the assumption that a french fly meant that there was a stress-relief button/tab on the inside as well as an extended tab on the outside.
Am I mistaken?
The pants arrived with the inside button/tab but no extended tab on the outside.

thanks,

I think a french fly is similar to a spanish fly, only more expensive... seriously, I believe a french fly has two closures at the waist, as opposed to only one (as on Levis). Placement of the tabs and buttons is really down to the maker/tailor.
