Gloves & belts: any recommendations?

What's your favourite gloves / belts retailer? Just found http://www.southcombe.com after a quick search but would welcome any alternatives.

None but while the subject is in the air, I bought a pair of gloves from Timberland that literally fell apart after two weeks of wear. Thought that 50 pounds will guarantee me at least some kind of quality. Outdoor company indeed. So be warned.

I purchased two horsehide belts from Schitzo a while back. They've been daily wearers. He could tell you the manufacturer. I'll try to get some pics up later.

I had a belt made from Terry Dear Ireland for a while now, oak bark tanned natural colour! It is called The Quercus Belt! The best belt I have owned by far. It ages beautifully.

I get my belts from www.leprevo.co.uk this is a store that supplies bits and pieces for making/repairing leather items, they do not actually make the belts but there is a guy who shares their shop who does leather work, so you choose the leather and the buckle and he puts it together, for superb quality bridle leather with solid brass buckles I last paid £65 for two complete belts.

I particularly like Torino's exotics, specifically their 35mm American alligator and 35mm South African ostrich belts.

Can't comment on glooves since I rarely ever use them where I live. I suspect that even Monitor's Timberland glooves would last me a lifetime.

Give "Tanner Goods" a look...I bought a pair of their "Utica" driver gloves - but I see they're SOLD OUT. But, their deerskin driver gloves, currently available, look very nice too. Hmm, I may have to pick up a pair in black =)

As for gloves; what kind of gloves are you looking for? For everyday winter wear. I have some gloves a friend gave me and have been trying to find a similar pair in brown. I think they might have been described as ranch gloves and from the US - made from soft but substantial hide. If it's a cold winter, I might need something warmer though. After looking at Leather Goods Connection, I realise I also need a new wallet ...

+1 I have a couple of them, they're great quality and they also offer a variety of leather widths. They're customer service is very good as well.

Jim spiedle....the beltman ...the best belts ever..got a nice one from equus...nice but a more dressy belt but great quality...bullhide or horsehide...go with the beltman.

+1 on the "Belt man. " I think he's out of NC. When I worked plain clothes, I wore one of his 1.5" wide belts, attaching all my gear without any issue. Top-notch quality there.

I don't have a "man stopper firearm" (unfortunately) but these belts look excellent. Going to have to get one.
