Okay, Lady Day, I'll 'splain.


You wrote "Spoiled Sport," which I read as a clever take on the the expression "spoilsport." By writing "Spoiled" instead of "Spoil," you cleverly changed the expression's meaning. Instead of conveying that I spoiled your Tiki fun, you implied that I myself am a spoiled fella. I thought this was witty ... and so I tipped my hat to you by tweaking with the expression myself. Hence, "Spoiled Sport" became "Soiled Short." A play on the sound of the words.

Would y'all say that Easter Island (Rapa Nui) is also a tiki influence? I've seen a lot of tiki bars with fake moai sculptures. Giant Moai statues come from Easter Island; none have been found in Tahiti or Hawaii.
