im still new so im learning....so if this has already been posted im SO sorry.
i was wanting to get some more info on the girls that use hot sticks.
i have short hair (a little above my shoulders) i have enough length to use hot rollers and curling irons but i would like to use hot sticks, im not sure what look it will give me to i don’t want to spend the money just yet, how do you girls use them and what look do you get? is it a nice wave, does it look like pin curls or more like a poodle?
has any one used the ones that look like hot sticks but don’t heat up, you use them the same way but you let them air dry, if so how do they work and what look do you get.
Also, how do you put them in, do you roll them horizontally or vertically?
Sorry for all the questions but i hope some one can help, any pictures would be great as well.
Thank you!;)

Sorry to be that girl again, but there are already lots of threads on this. There's lots of info in the pincurls thread about Hot Sticks and several threads too:

When rolling their hair using hot rollers, I believe most of the ladies roll them horizontally. It really comes down to just experimenting and finding out what works for you.

To answer your question, several of the ladies, including myself, use the unheated rollers called "pillow curlers". They work like rag curlers. I like doing a cold, dry set with those better than using hot sticks, but you have to let them sit for a long time and I periodically zap them with the blow dryer. Some of the gals use heated dryer hoods.
