How do Alden shoes fit?

Hello-

I'm interested in purchasing some Alden shoes for sale on eBay, but I'm concerned that they don't run very true to size. Check this out: http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Catalog/index.cfm/FuseAction/fitting.htm Can anyone share their experiences with this brand? I'm interested in one of the Barrie last shoes. Should I really go 1/2 size down from what I usually wear?

Nah, they fit pretty true to size (at least size 6 do). But maybe that's just the last i got.

I'd follow their advice.

Aldens are pretty much the only dress shoes I ever wear. I've found they are very true to size.

Do not size down. If you wear a 12, get a 12. You won't be sorry. Only problem...you may end up wanting more Aldens.

My two pair in my size are a wonderful fit.

Alden fit relative to Allen Edmonds

Does any one have experience how Alden dress shoes or boots fit relative to Allen Edmonds particular in the 9 to 10 size range? I pick my Allen Edmonds up off ebay and wear sizes 9.5E and 9.5EEE. I would like to try a pair of Alden

Give the good people at Shoemart a call, they're very knowledgeable about Alden and AE as they've carried an extensive selection of both for decades.

My Aldens are also exactly true to size and feel great on the feet.
