How hard is it to resize a hat?

I wear a 7 1/4 found a hat i like but it is a 7 1/8. How hard ouwld it be to go up one size? and how is it done?

Kidding. 7-1/8 to 7-1/4 should be no prob. Go visit Art up in SF (you'll end up with a few more hats though given his collection!) or that guy Baron in LA. Or perhaps any cowboy hatter you might have in Whittier.

My aunt and cousins live in Whittier. Nice place.

Stretching a hat one size is not a problem. If you do not have experience doing it then maybe it might be best to have a professional do it. The benefit of that would be that you could also have it cleaned and reblocked while you are at it. I am not sure the condition of the hat in question but just about every vintage hat could use a little TLC. ;) Then you could dazzle your friends with a hat that not only fits but looks great. :cool:
