How Many Fedoras did you see today?

Hi Folks

I never gave anyone wearing a fedora a second look until I found this board and have taken an interest in the stylish fedora.

So yesterday while visting a local casino, I noticed three people wearing fedoras. I wished I was one of them. (I'm still waiting on a couple purchases to arrive). I thought it odd that two of the folks wearing the fedora were both gentleman under the age of fourty and a great looking young lady that was probably in her early thirties.

So I actually saw 3 fedoras and I thought all three folks were styling to the max. Its nice to see that the fedora maybe making a comeback.

So folks how many people did you spot in fedoras today?

Best regards

I usually see three or four gentlemen wearing fedoras whenever I go out. Either to the casino, shopping or just out and about. Would be nice to see them make a comeback as they just add a nice flair to whatever your wearing. IMO.

Are we talking true fur felts or does this include the "Walmart paper/polyester trilby"?

Hi Neophyte

No parameter on the quality of the fedora spotted. Everyone can't afford a vintage fedora like us lucky folks here on FL.
What I am trying to establish is if the fedora is making a comeback. The young guy or girl wearing the cheap wal mart today may just be wearing a vintage cavanagh 4-5 years from now.

So lets just have some fun with this thread and give a count from time to time.

Ok then, thanks for the clarification. Didn't mean to suggest elitism (or perhaps, subconciously, I did) but rereading my post there's not many other ways to interpret. I'll be keeping a lookout, but seeing as I live on a college campus I'm not expecting to see any.

I saw one panama, as I was looking in the rearview mirror and one western hat. Typically, I can see anywhere from one to twelve western hats, depending on the part of town that I'm in.

Hi Folks

I think my post office delivery person thinks I'M retired and I am waiting for my first social security check. For the past week I have been meeting him/her at my front door waiting on my hats to arrive. Oh well another day and no hat. Back to my jamison.

There were three that I saw in my sliver of the Washington, D.C. area: My Panama hat, and an older man coming up out of the subway with a stingy brim which looked like it had some age on it, and one of those inexpensive cloth hats on a woman on the subway. I seem to see more older men (I mean 70 plus years) trotting out the older hats they may have had on mothballs, in the last few years. I think many of them welcome any return to fedoras that they detect. Personally I think it's fun to see the style catch on from various age groups.

Just did some traveling from Chi-town and back to sunny F-L-A. Quite a few people in the airports wearing stingies. I was wearing my seersucker suit jacket, tan linen trousers, shirt/tie/pocket square, penny loafers, and a Panama with matching ribbon. Someone behind me decided to whistle "Dixie" as I walked through Midway International. He was obviously jealous.

Spotted one fedora today while going to the butcher shoppe. Then at the local mall spotted well over 25 baseball caps, I can't remember
how many were worn backwards. LOL.

Baseball caps 25 could of been 55- who's really counting? fedoras 1--- At least it wasn't a shutout.

Best regards

In the summer I see quite a few older gentlemen wearing Panamas. In the winter I usually have to look in the mirror to see anything other than knit hats and ball caps.
