Organized labour is a two edged sword. First, it protected and protects the rights of workers, for the most part anyway. But, in our current economic regime of "More faster better cheaper", protecting the higher wages of domestic workers has forced a huge percentage of the North American manufacturing sector offshore to regions of slave labour. The result is mass unemployment at home. Now these areas are starting to become labour savy and organizing, driving wages up, hopefully a good thing as this may eventually put the entire world on a level playing field insofar as manufacturing costs are concerned and bring work back home. Just an observation.
