There literally is no jacket made sans some tiny flaw.

I may come off as a person suffering from an OCD, but those tiny flaws kinda always kinda concerned me.
As I mentioned, I would just snip it and wear cause the seam is highly unlikely to fall apart.
But I would expect a better finish for a jacket whose price is set around $2000. I mean they could have snipped it off before putting them in a box!

Yes, I admit that I went too far on saying get a refund.
Maybe exchange would have been a better way to express my thoughts.

So, that was my humble vindication. =P

I am sorry that my post offended you guys. I apologize.
The last thing I want to do is to cause any ruckus here in the lounge.

+ what everyone has just said except HM, a tragedy, send it back, get another one?? All because of a loose thread, are you for real?! Ive been reading things on here for years but dont post much hence the ' new in town' thing but thats really annoying, couldnt control myself. Put the news on if u need to understand what a tragedy is, its not a loose thread on a ****** jacket.

Nobody offended, trust me, just thought it was too much for a small thread - that in all 99.99% likelihood, will do zero harm, and nobody will even notice it.
For $2k, you get something beautiful that humans made by hand. I like a wart here and there, and that's not even a wart - coming from one OCD guy to another...

That is sad to hear. But I assure you that you can live with it and you can excel.
I know a lady who has panic disorder and on medication and she's one of the few outstanding people who live their lives to the full extent.
I am sure things will get better. I have a limited understanding of the panic disorder but based on what I observed, the natural course of the disease is quite benign.
It will get better and better as time goes by.

I would try to forget about it.....it's possible it might work it's back in as you wear the jacket and it stretches a bit. What I would NOT DO is snip it !!!!!

I would get a toothpick or pin or something similar and just try to tuck it into the seam in the leather so it's out of sight and without snipping it.

I can appreciate the OP's concern, after all, he's paid a lot of money for a jacket, so he's worried about perceived flaws. It's a natural worry.
I also agree with all the posters who say don't worry about it, it's part of the character of a hand made jacket, and don't cut the thread! The jacket will take up the slack as it creases etc.

I just want to say though (and I promise I'm not trouble-making) that if GW jackets don't have any 'flaws' like this EVER, that;
1. That really is a significant achievement. And,
2. Why hasn't anyone ever explained that to me? It's not like I don't ask

This looks like a great jacket, and I agree with Monitor- that (Regency? Georgian?) doorway is EPIC!

I would try very delicately pulling on either end to see if it isn't just a loose thread stuck in the seam.
If one end comes out, cut it and forget about it.
If it doesn't come out on either end, try pushing it in with something thin but not to pointy (a big blunt wool needle works great). Often you can actually push the thread in the hole and it completely disappears.
I have had used both methods with success.

On my new Bord Racer, I had the end of a thread hanging out. With a thick needle, usually used for bookbinding, I pulled it in, out and in again through the holes in the seam. Now I don’t even remember where it was.
