I am an 11E. Hardly an odd size. I did call the mag mile store yesterday & I was told that there are none left in the US in my size. I have discovered that the Alden number 86 boot would fit the bill if I can figure out how much it is & where to buy it.

    Thanx!!!

  2. True. Odd (meaning unsold) sizes tend to be below 8 or above 12.

All I want is a black cap toe boot without a medallion on the cap in standard calfskin.

This or something similar is what I want!

They'll make you up a pair for a $100 MTO surcharge. At least that was their program a couple years ago.

  6. As you might know, Stacy Adams makes a similar-looking one, but its quality is not very high.

That is the problem. I want something with some quality.

Yes and cheap shoes are actually a more expensive proposition in the long run since they cant be adequately refurbished.

Sounds about right. That's where I lucked out being a 13. I often pick up good clearance deals on shoes, because they're odd sized.

The loafers I'm wearing right now were on clearance for 10 bucks. Can't go wrong for that price.

High quality shoes and boots are cheap(-ish) in the long run, as they can last for many, many years and be repaired underway. The problem is that it's very expensive to start out a reasonable collection of high quality shoes and boots.

Does anyone have any experience with these boots?

You are not going to find decent quality boots at that MSRP price-point.

I bought Allen Edmonds Fifth Street and Dalton. Both are great. However, it has taken me months to get back on budget from the purchase.

I know but one can hope. I think I am just goung to have to break down & get a pair of 5th streets in black. Hopefully I can snag some seconds.
