MYER CLOTHS, fedora - MIDDLETOWN OHIO

RBH

Bartender
I got to my in-laws house tonight and my father in law had picked up a fedora at an estate sale for a super low price.

It is a size 7 3\8 that I think I can get a 7 1\2 out of.
It is a BRYON fedora, grey with wind trolly and bound edge, sold at
MYERS CLOTHES LTD. MIDDLETOWN OHIO.The price tag under the sweat states $8.95.
Does any of our Ohio brethern know of Myers?

Cool, RBH. Looks like you got yourself a Whippet-esque lid! Looks to be in great shape, too. I look forward to seeing it on your noggin if you are able to stretch it successfully!

Cheers,
JtL

Nice, hat, Russ. Can't beat the color, the ribbon or the binding. Very nice.

I can wear a 7 3/8.

Middleton or Middletown?

I am wondering if it was Middleton or Middletown, Ohio? Although I have never heard of Middleton, I have heard of Middletown...it's my home town! It is located 32 miles north of Cincinnati and 30 miles south of Dayton...hence the name!

I do not recall a Myer Cloths or anything like that while growing up there. All of my family still lives in that area, and my brother is a bit of a historian when it comes to the town. He happens to be here visiting me at the moment, so I will check with him to see if he has any knowledge of Myer Cloths.

I like your thinking on this one, Rusty. First, do no harm. (As one who has indeed done his share of harm, I feel entitled to offer such advice.)

We all know that some lids will take a stretch better than others. At worst, it would make fine barter material. And that's a plenty good outcome, eh?
