Mouthwatering. I think this is the next jacket/suit I am going to order from them when I get the funds together!

Seeing this thread the other day reminded me I had a Norfolk jacket packed away somewhere which I have never worn since it came into my possesion about 7 or 8 years ago

I have no idea of its age as the only labels I can find are these are these

The jacket seems to be in very good condition (nothing a quick trip to the cleaners wouldnt fix) but alas I dont like the fit, thats probably why I packed it away and never got around to unpacking the boxes after I moved house.

I would be interested in buying this jacket if it is for sale. Is it a small size - say 21" armpit to armpit?

The jacket fits like a 40 regular, the underarm measurment is a closer to 22 inches but thats because of the way the sleeves are constructed.
I am unable to send PM's but if you know of a way around this I will send you more photos and measurements.

Thanks - I know what you mean about the sleeves. I'm still interested, depending on the price!

You need more posts to send a PM (I can't remember how many). Perhaps you will bear me in mind ans send me some measurements and a price when you can post.

Looks far better in person. I'll do some decent pictures shortly.

Oh, I forgot, Mr. Past, I recently nabbed a khaki drill Norfolk jacket from a fellow Lounger-

It's a few-years-old LVC re-issue type garment- well made, nice cloth,
sturdy.

I must show you and you.

I and I would appreciate it. We also left a comment congratulating you on that in a different post.

Doran. Yup, that's what I see. It's of the genus Norfolciensis Hammerus Horrorus.

Yes- with Norfolks, it's a case of,
"careful with the size of the tweed/check, Eugene"

Of course, the buttoning height/qty, lapel, belt height are all,
from beyond the best bits of Norfolkery.

A classically styled Norfolk, in my eyes, is the best Norfolk,
why don't these guys try a more Edwardian style?
surely the classic style for us C20th boys.
4 (even 5)buttons high, with some shape and ALL the pockets.
A "smaller" tweed helps too.

Look at Mose' effort of today, in the WAYWT thread.
Optimal Tweedage.

Well, what IS it about the large plaid/check norfolk that's not right? I mean besides the cloth itself. Is it the plastic belt buckle? The angularity of the lapels? What is it? Someone tell me, please. I can feel that it is not right, but I cannot put my finger on it.

I think a BIG CHECK breaks up the line.
I feel that a large check is humourous, not serious-
a big check makes a funny suit. Clown's suit!
There are exceptions.

I think, given the appearance of so many cheesy Norfolks,
a classic Norfolk must indeed, be a finely fettled beast,
my fine, feathered friends.

You can't just take all the features and throw them at a jacket.

I used to HATE Norfolks. But now, I see.
