In the current situation I might not make it there or, if I did, make it back! This would be hat worth taking a trip to Paris for though (under normal circumstances). Let's see if it's still on sale in a few months.
A trip to Paris sound nice...a trip anywhere sounds nice. I can’t wait for the world to start spinning again.
My wife's O'Farrell needed just a slight bump in size, but none of the stretchers I have will fit in it. So I go "out there" and land this old one (yet to be delivered).
But that's not why I'm posting. Included with this was what was listed as a "wooden architectural piece".
I think the stamped initials are for a railroad and the only one I find that fits is the Selma, Marion & Memphis Railroad (1868 - 1881) out of Greensboro, Alabama.

Anyone have any clue what this thing is? If nothing else I can put it on the wall and hang a hat from it.
And what a great trout fishing hat it would make.
If it did in fact come out of a railroad shop my guess is that it's a die or base plate they made for an arbor press, along the lines of these:
