Van Dyke Custom Hat Maker

This Van Dyke just arrived yesterday from Canada. I tried to find some information on the company without much luck. There is a Van Dyke Hatters located in Brooklyn, NY but I don't believe they are in any way affiliated. The hat has a 2 1/2" brim with a thin overwelt edge and a 5 1/4" crown as shown which is wrapped in a 1 3/4" grosgrain ribbon. The liner tip may have had an oilkskin cover at one time. The leather sweatband is unreeded. I tried the hat with both a front pinch with the brim turned down and a side pinch with the brim turned up and I think I prefer the latter. Inside the hat appears much darker like a navy blue. If anyone has some information about this hat maker please let me know.

Some very cool hats. I'm off again to push snow soon.
Got this 20x beaver Stetson. How old can it be? It came to my mind it might be a modern Stetson. Felt is different to the touch from the 20x beaver Black Gold Resistol and from the 20x beaver Beaver Brand hat...

I was thinking maybe the 60s. It looks to be in excellent condition.

I think that 20X is newer because my 7X (unlabeled OR) Stetson with the exact liner no longer has a snap brim. I believe '60s ORs still had snap brims. It looked like an OR when I found it but is a newer lookalike IMO. I thought it was around '80s but not '60s. I know that you have a different hat model but the liner is the same.
My 7X when I found it.

Same liner.

I reshaped it.

Joao Encarnado, I do like your style and great pics! They are always great.
Of course I would love some opinions on brims, etc., etc.
Off to play in the aftermath of our recent winter storm. As of now, it looks like around -25 below 0 temperatures with the wind. Somebody, HELP ME!!
Later, gentlemen.

So many new hats, Che, Roger, Joao, congrats to all!

I had a gift In my mail yesterday. A unusual Dunn&Co LTD. Multicolor Ribbon and I am very suprised, a wide brimmed!
That is very unusual for the conservativ Dunn&Co.
That gift comes from my friend Richard from good old England. Thanks so much Richard you are so generous!
Maybe Richard can tell a Story about that!
But now some Pics!
