That's a great looking hat, and you wear it well. I really like the pork pie. I, too, never heard of Dobbs "Panaire" and could only find the registration info. I "guess" it has something to do with breathability?

Thanks! Yes Mayser is still in business. They have cut back the size of their catalog and moved production from Germany to Slovakia in April of 2011. I have a lot of vintage Mayser hats and company information posted on my website.

I think of the ridge as a wrinkle. Don't like it. Seems like somebody folded the hat in half.
