P. & C. Habig Wien, Hutmacher 1862, Seidenzylinder / Silk Top Hat, 58 cm, Crown 6 inches / 15 cm, Width 9 1/2 inches / 24 cm, Length 12 inches / 30,5 cm, possibly early to Mid 1920s. This is a really fantastic Seidenzylinder and in excellent condition. Superb overall (components & workmanship) quality. It has the Paper Label and other interesting markings be behind the Sweatband. There is a P. & C. Habig Wien "Patent Ventilator" at the Front of Sweatband but not mentioned. Also came with a restored + modified Blue Carton with an interesting interior design.

I can’t claim to know anything about top hats, but that is just spectacular!

Sometimes a stroke of luck comes unexpectedly.

Two Wilkes arrive from the same seller in Germany, each with a magnificent Melousine felt hat.
Wilke etichetta esterna.jpg

Both are leftovers from a warehouse or store; the outside size is still attached to the ribbon.

I'll show you a preview of them as soon as they arrive.

There's still some left on the fur felt side, which arrived in the last few days, and then we'll move on to hats suitable for the season.

Every time I buy a hat from eBay, I assume it has passed through the hands of a member here at one time or another, but I couldn’t find much about this Pigalle one. It seems like the company mostly manufactures

sombreros, and occasionally a black cowboy hat. Either way, I’m really digging this straw bowler. I don’t even know what kind of straw it is.

You can tell a lot about a gentleman by his hat and a hat like that magnificent topper is all but guaranteed to get you into The Royal enclosure at Ascot. It's breathtakingly beautiful.

Intrigued by what it's value might be, I checked out vintage, silk top hats. https://www.ascot-tophats.co.uk/ATH...zC-pc4I3Fhzi4Bh-081yXz_8lqu20BQ4aAl5rEALw_wcB
Wow, I doubt that I will ever get to wear such a beauty.
Robert, Thanks! I was lucky to find this one, and I paid bit more than usual, but still a great bargin.

Just received this Dalestone Custom Made hat from the bay. It is every bit as stunning as it looked in the listing. It rivals my Stetson 3X mode edge, also has a felted edge, and the combination of beige felt with a slight rose or sunset undertone, and the nickel/silver gilled ribbon makes it glow. That is a magnificent hat, Jeff. Wonderful find.

Fantastic find, Steve. Lots of toppers on sale on the German auction sites for some reason, but Habig rarely shows up.

Here are some I did not take pictures of due to weather condition being awful.

Barbisio Misto F a g g i o (beech). Ruvido (rough) finish. Size 56 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Nobody and I do mean nobody does shark gills like Barbisio does. It's enough to make me buy a green hat; go figure!

A brand I never come across on this side of the pond, so it was a no brainer.
Caxton stingy fedora in brown. Size 56 with the bound brim at 4,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. Nice colour combination, but a bit too stingy for me to be honest. The quality is wonderful though.
