My rusticated top-smoker. I thought to have uploaded a pic before, but seemingly not.

Vauen Mamba 5537. Still a pipe, which you can grab and shut your brain off. Would be totally recommendable for rookies. Beside of that, it's standard mass-production and affordable (105 EUR).

Don’t know how they may do wire rustication in a factory setting but the Danish pipe carvers who invented the technique would wrap the stummel with copper wire, then sandblast it. The high straight ridges are where the wire was. I went back several pages in this thread for the pic but this is my Poul Winslow. I’ll reshoot new pics the next time I light it up.

Thanks for the information Jack, that makes allot more sense to me. I couldn't figure out if it was done on a wire wheel how they kept the edges of the stummel crisp and didn't tear out the bead on the bulldog.

Mom brought me a Billiard from Side, Turkey. Even there, Meerschaum pipes difficult to get! But Hotel indoor kiosk finally helped unbureaucratic and organized one. :)

Twenty-five yrs ago Jess Chonowitsch & the Danish pipe company Stanwell made a bent Dublin shaped pipe honoring the 200th birthday anniversary of Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. It was fitted with an Army mount with brass ferrule & came with dual stems, a regular length & a Churchwarden. The limited edition known as the Hans Christian Andersen quickly sold out. A few yrs later they offered a Hans Christian Andersen II. The Army mount was fitted with a nickel ferrule & was also offered with a 9mm filter. This video shows the HCA II.

This original HCA is on its way to a new home.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Smoke & post those Peterson pipes if you got ‘em. Preferably pre Republic pipes.

Great idea, Jack.
If I remember correctly and read the hallmark right, I believe the silver was stamped around 1923, the pipe probably made shortly after. Too big for me to smoke regularly, it is normally my Christmas Day pipe.
