It has been awhile, hasn't it?
I just discovered that Tim Hollis has written a book on the history of Pizitz. I am going to try and track down a copy. If you aren't familiar with Mr. Hollis, he has written several books on stuff folks our age would remember about growing up down south - the miracle strip, the smoky mountains, etc.
I have a couple about Birmingham landmarks. All of them are packed full of cool old photos.

dh66, not familiar with Mr. Hollis but will try to find the books. There was a Pizitz girl that I met years ago, she went to high school across town from me, believe her name was Karen, that was part of that family.

In this part of the world, cracker is a pejorative term for poor white people.

Yes I realised that after I'd posted....over here a cracker as well as being a biscuit like product that you put cheese on top of, it's also used to describes a nice item....although people can also said to be 'crackers' meaning they're a little bit mad too!

Haha now that's an amusing crossed line! I can confirm 'cracker' is a compliment. Derived I think from 'cracking' similar to 'smashing'. What Ho British compliments etc!

Gotta love 85-cent ties ...

The "Resilient Construction" is 4" at the widest. 47" long. Is this from the 1930s/1940s?

The "Regal" is 2-1/2" at the widest. 53" long.

The apparently unworn "Bloomingdale's Men's Store" is 3-1/2" at the widest. 46" long.

The "Giorgio Armani" is 3" at the widest. 58" long. Probably not that old, but I liked the Easter Eggs.

Any help in determining the age would be most appreciated.
