The new week has begun - here again a few ties from the bundle.
First some classic pieces...
small "diamonds" in burgundy & silver
actually again a norwegian tie - at least sold in Oslo
What the "Hakil" means, I don't know... At least not "silk"! Any idea?
one specimen with very similar colour combination - even smaller patterned - no label
Tie with larger check pattern - burgundy and beige - coarser weave - no label
reminds me of a British specimen I've had for some time...
And now something a little more fancy:
shiny silk - beige ("gold"), silver and burgundy stripes - unfortunately no label
The different width of the stripes + counter stripes create a kind of 3D resp. the Doppler effect.
And a little more "wild":
same pattern and colours - supplemented by blue counter stripes
Again no label, but it is certainly from the same manufacturer as the tie before.
Because of the light fabric and the light colours they will surely be my new summer favourites...
All super nice finds, Matt, but these last two...WOW! That pattern is great!
Somehow I've missed dropping by the ties thread on my visits to the Lounge lately, glad I did today because I'm sure not disappointed. Some outstanding acquisitions fellas! Winners all round.
Below is a pic of a couple of ties that are waiting for an opportunity to wear them for the first time.
Cheers, Eric -
Like them all, but really dig that baby blue one!
Thanks Matt. The baby blue was two times as pricey, but well worth every dollar.
I can not wait to make an occasion to wear it.
Hope you find an opportunity soon, Eric! Those are all fantastic!!!
Very nice!! Do you suppose 7/61 is the date ofthe manufacture? It certainly looks to be a solid example of the skinny "atomic" style of that era. Great tie!
It's a possibility... 60's anyway
Nice latest 50s/early 60s skinny one in the classic color combo:
I estimate 70% of my skinny ones to be red&black or red&blue!
Simple classic vintage self tie black bow tie with small torch details, unmarked. But sometimes the simple ones are the neatest.
Nice....and well worn. Looks good with the rest of what you're wearing. Any chance you'd post a close up of the details?
closer up image here. I have so many bow ties but this one is quickly becoming my go to.
Thanks for the up close shot. The torches are next level cool. The asymmetry of them is sublime. That's a great tie!
