I’ve been on the hunt for some slim-fit khakis or chinos without any stretch material, and they are not easy to find. Bill’s doesn’t do a slim cut and even the guy who started Bill’s, who has now relaunched Duck Head, uses a stretchy fabric.
Iron Heart does make a really nice pair of chinos, but they are ~$300 and rarely in stock. Otherwise, the only good option I’ve found has been Jack Donnelly, which makes some seriously high-quality khakis right here in America for ~$150. But they also have limited selection.
Anyone I’m missing? It seems like every manufacturer of non-denim trousers in the world is using some sort of spandex or elastic — I honestly don’t understand why? It’s hotter than need be and drapes like shit — plus almost no one seems to sew clothes in the US.
