Those days are long gone I'm afraid.It is a shame really. I enjoy wearing my hats in the rain the harder the better. It gives me an opportunity to do some tweeking.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes the rain will make the felt even better or the shape even better after a little nudge here and there.

This just came in. It may not be as old as some of the other Mallorys I have but the color and overall shape make up for its youth. I dig the underwelt too.

I will get a better pic of the welt stiching and the color on a sunny day.

Douglas: The ******* is a superb hat (that's news...) and looks great on
you-would look ok on me, too. If you ever decide to maybe ah,
fuggetahboutit. Enjoy. I'll simply spend my remaining years looking for one
like everyone else with an eye for the simple, elegant,timeless old hat.

Tough coveting your hats. You have so many, and they're all so good- I'm
looking forward to the day you produce a compilation of your collection; that's
going to be a real treat...sign me up for a copy.

EARLIER OPEN ROAD

It is strange how style changes within one model. This is a nice hat. Medium thin,unlined and an unreeded sweat. There was some stiffener in it at some point but it has been worked out with use. I can see how the brim stitching can add some stability to the shape. The hat fits perfectly.
