I'm from the South not the southeast.

NC. I'm southwest of Pittsboro, that's south of Chapel Hill, that's near Raleigh. I wasn't sure how many people knew where Chapel Hill is, there is nothing good in Chapel Hill.

I'm from Morganton, NC (in the western part of the state, and home to Senator Sam Ervin of Watergate fame).

 

Maryland is technically south of the Mason-Dixon Line, but we try not to acknowledge that.

 

Unless of course you happen to be from the Eastern Shore of The Old Line State...

then you will happily embrace your southern heritage.
