Suits wanted

The title says it. I want vintage or vintage looking suits, any era from the 1920s to the late 1960s. Or modern suits in a classic style. Single breasted or double breasted, any colour within reason except black pinstripe SB or plain navy SB, as I have those already but I don't mind having them again in DB.

At the top of my list is a plain grey SB suit or a DB suit of any colour at all.

I prefer wool suits, but I'll take wool blends too, just no 100% polyester. Linen if it's a nice summer suit though I have less need for that than wool in England.

I'm a 38" chest (slim but with regular arms) and a 30-32" waist with a 31-33" inside leg.

If anyone has vintage grey fedoras in 59cm for sale or spats then I'll take those too.

I basically just want to build up my wardrobe and suits are what I need the most currently as I don't have enough for good variation but I like wearing them.

What is your budget, Avedwards?

.
I'd pay more for a nice DB suit or the grey SB suit I'm after, than say for a black SB notched lapel suit (as that's not much better than a modern suit to me). However, I wouldn't want to go much above £100 or the equivalent in $ or any other currency. Though don't let this put anyone off making offers as I will consider any offer at all within reason (I cannot afford a £1000 Saville Row suit sadly).

I've long given up on the suit front, but rather than post a new thread I thought I might revive this one to make another request.

Does anyone have a plain red waistcoat made of wool or some other material. Not paisley, not shiny; just plain red wool in any shade ranging from bright red to burgundy. I wear a 38 chest and I like a waistcoat to be comparatively long as I like to be non-traditional and wear a belt but still want my waistline properly covered.

I know this is an old thread (I haven't frequented this section in a few months now), but assuming your interest in expanding your wardrobe was recently renewed, I may have something in my closet, depending on how tall your are.

I have some suits and jackets in 38 Short and 38 Regular that I don't use, I thought it was worth a mention.

Thanks for posting. I'm still after suits if I can find them as my situation has changed little other than that I need suits even more now since I will be wearing them daily from June onwards (out of choice as I will no longer be in an environment where I wear a uniform). As I only have two suits which fit me, two blazers and two sport coats I need more now.

I'm reasonably tall at 6'1". The 38S suits won't fit me but 38R usually does as I like the sleeves so that I show some cuff (I find that 38L is always too long on me).
