I had a bit of insomnia last night. Spent the wee hours of the morning enjoying the 10+ year old posts. There's an amazing amount of great pictures and knowledge to be had. You do have to slog through the posts with missing pictures.

Thanks, It is. I picked up a couple a few years ago. This one has fold out ear muffs for really cold weather, which I think is a cool option, but I haven’t worn it like that.

My new black Ushanka is still fine to me!
My misfortune is, that my Adam's apple is at a bad position for the strap and closure, but every body is different and that's life.
But altogether, Ushanka does it's job very well, keeping my ears cozy in the cold.

Maybe, I will replace this typical plastic backpack closure with a more comfortable alternative.

So with it being officially 5 months to the day until my 40th birthday I decided to splurge ahead of time and ordered a birthday cap from Mr. Keith Lo Bue of The Well Dressed Head. Chose “L’Aronde” model in a really jazzy woven black and white cotton with an equally Art Deco like black liner.

As much as I love a good fedora, flat and newsboy caps seem to have pulled off the trick of looking both vintage and up to date, keeping classic hats alive!

Here's my latest, something green from Ireland. Seller says her husband bought it on the Emerald Isle some fifteen years ago. Shandon brand, made in Shandon, County Cork. Has a quilted lining but it's 'for comfort' rather than insulation.

Very nice. Is the strap buckle functional? It gives it a Greek fisherman's cap vibe.
