I have the same issue. Lots of caps look too small on me, even when they “fit” perfect. .

So now we're going to do something a little different in terms of style and reason for buying this particular cap...

I enjoy working in the yard. Normally in the past I'd throw on a bandana and kick up some dirt. I wanted something that I could sweat a lot in and throw in a sink full of soap and wear it the next day if need be. What to do? Monsivais to the rescue...

...By way of Monsivais' Instagram feed I found out these puppies were on sale for 45 bones. Couldn't pass it up...

I went with the dotted stripe because I like a little spice in my life. It's a fitted cap and fits just right. I'm not much of a baseball style cap wearin' guy, but since this is more a utilitarian cap for me, why not? Even still, for me it's still stylish to flip the front of the cap up to give it a different flavor when out and about. I'm told this design is a machinist's cap or engineering cap from the early 1900s. I believe the idea of flipping the peak up is to allow one to get in close proximity of whatever hardware being worked on without bumping into things. The 2nd pic shows me in full sweaty glory after mowing the lawn for a few hours. I just get a tiny cap full of woolite and submerge in a sink of cold water. Wring out and dry on a hook. Next day... it's dry and can be worn again.

Do I not like anything about this cap? Well, it does wrinkle a bit after drying. I suppose that's to be expected. I've tried using one of those hand held steamers to smoothen things out to no avail. I haven't tried an iron yet. I'm weary and have a propensity to burn fabric when using such tools. So for now I just leave it wrinkled and wear it as is.

Now you're talkin'! These are definitely better when worn with the peak/brim up in my opinion; gives 'em a bit of "attitude" like a fedora/trilby worn at a rakish angle.

What you find is that certain hats work best for your particular head shape. Small,big and then just right. It’s a matter of balance. This is what hats shops use to do back in the day help the customer find the hat that worked with their head shape. Just because it fits doesn’t mean it will make you look good.

@drmaxtejeda - that is fantastic! Can't wait to see your other cap you bought from Keith. I've said it before... my wife would kill me if I bought another leather cap. I'm wondering how the cap is in warmer temperatures. I've acquired a few spring / summer caps as of late and even with the leather band and lighter materials, my head still sweats.

I'm looking for newsboys caps similar to the brixton ollie in the price range
$20- $30 maybe a bit more [ the ****py $AU exchange rate is killing me ], they are hard to find now in my size now, I think they stopped making them.
I like how they are oversized and in light fabrics so you get one side to stay up high.

This is now my cap collection, mostly cheap blended wool stuff, but that's fine with me since I don't have to baby them. The two in the bottom left are the ones I've had for ages: the grey herringbone is Kangol which I've had since a teenager, now too small for my head; the brown houndstooth I've had for 15 years or so, it had earflap inside but I removed them since it was tight on my head. The other caps are all recent purchases over the last few months.

hi, I've been a member for a while, but life got in the way & haven't been active in a long time.

I'm a big fan of what Bailey calls their "dockman" style caps... My favorite being the "Butler" for summer and the "Seddon" for winter. The Butler is an 8 panel slimmer newsboy made of linen and cotton. The Seddon is a wool blend that is warm during the winter.. Both have very flexible brims.

I just can't seem to like the caps with plastic brims.

I wish I could like the wider style newsboys, but they just look clown-like on my head. My father wore the "ivy" style flat caps & for a number of reasons, so I tend to stay away from them.

Looking for suggestions on other brands in the style that I like.
