Thanks Smithy. I gather you share my taste in Islay malt?

Oh yes very much so ;)

Søren, I still have to hunt some of that down. I usually pick up Budvar or Urquell if I am buying Czech pils, but you're spurred me on to try it.

Hot and a bit muggy here this evening. I'm on the local poison, Dahls Pils and the significant other is quaffing some Veronese garganega. I'm happy, she's happy, all is good ;)

I had a glut of these drinks a few years back in the Dominican Republic, which really made me appreciate them.
Sadly this one is gone....:(

I use Pitu cachaca in mine. Tasty and refreshing!

A nice glass of wine with some popcorn. It is movie night. I know it is a strange combination. But you can always have some fun with a litte class. ;)

Yep.......still experimenting

Manhattan:
2 oz Old Overholt rye
.5 oz Noilly Prat Sweet Vermouth
dash of Martini and Rossi Dry Vermouth
No bitters.
Shaken.

Getting better, I must say.
The 2nd one should be reeeeeeelly good.

Round 2:
Stirred and 2 drops of Peychauds Bitters added.
Better than #1

last night a Sazerac with just Angostura Bitters. I have to get some Peychaud's Bitters, I don't think the Angostura alone did the drink any justice.

Tonight it's off to a big pool party. I'm bringing the pulled pork and the mint for the Mojitos. I recently discovered drinking these with a straw is preferred to sipping off the top.
