I'm somebody now!

Got the Campdraft today from everythingaustralian. Only took about a month and a half to come in, instead of the approximated 3 months.

It's the Taupe fawn or whatever they call it. It's pretty much the same as my Tawny fawn Federation, though ever-so-slightly darker. Very nice color.

After snipping off the wind trolley (which just kind of hung loose around the crown, and I could see no way of tightening it) I set about to shaping. Didn't take too long (I seem to be getting the hang of it). Diamondized it, of course. I need to tweak it a bit here and there some more, but I am substantially satisfied with it.

I think it's an "honest" looking hat...the first hat I have had that I think really "looks like" an old hat.

While it looks like the hat has taper in the straight-on photo, it does NOT. That's due to the 2 foot perspective problem.

I'll get better photos as soon as I can.

Don't worry, you can tell there is no taper by the last photo, taken from the back of the hat. In fact, in that one it almost looks like reverse taper.

Anyway, good looking hat.

Hang on a second . . . I live here in Australia, and it took TWO whole months for my last hat to arrive from everythingaustralian, while FDM's hat took only a month and a half! Hey, what's going on here?! lol

I love it, the Campdraft is like you say it has that everyman look that I so like.
Your hat is kinda like mine but I have a tighter pinch on the front.

Dutchman you now need to find you a pin to set that fine fedora off. Here is the FFA pin I placed on my Campdraft.
I think it adds to the whole look of the hat and I have gotten some great complements on it.
