Rod Serling was in the 11th ABN. He started writing when he was recovering wounds he received in the Pacific. Wonder why he did some of his episodes about the Pacific ? Last time I saw "Trapper John" he was on FOX News as a commentator.csmiller said:Ah, yes, Rod Serling. Great series, probably one of the best on TV ever. Mr. Serling is a hometown hero around here. He was raised in Binghamton. Several episodes were based in part on locations or towns near Binghamton. He was also in the military (Airborne) in WW2. He earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. And did anyone notice that Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock) was in the episode?
