My impression is they do all their own felting from rabbit fur. Might be wrong though. It would help to speak Spanish. $165 for delivery alone on one hat via FED EX from Mexico. https://www.facebook.com/casaencinas/

Too bad they don’t offer furs other than rabbit.

It’s good to see you posting again by the way.

Nice photo! Thanks for sharing. You're looking mighty handy as a pair there Scott! My "big 'un" @ 16.3h is a show stopper but it is a long way down if you get off early. I have others that are shall we say..."more fun" :) This is my BIG Little man. Big heart, Little horse by comparison @ 15h. They're all characters.

Little Horse knows the only rule here is, "Don't touch his hat".

Oh wow, that is a beautiful horse. And at 16.3 hands the Big Un would be tall for an early fall wouldn't it. LOL I like the hats too.

Stetson Boss of the Plains 3X by Akubra. 3-1/2 RE x 5-3/4 - 6 open crown. Same thin ribbon as used on the Akubra OR & current Campdraft. Black & gold keyhole size tag, 58 cm (7-1/4). This hat will be returned to seller as they misidentified size & measurements.

Ouch, hate that sellers don't take the time to accurately list their items.

They must not teach how to read a ruler or tape measure in school anymore.

PS: Without a good education nowadays, you are destined to a career in Customer Service. Shawn made that choice long ago!

Just kiddin'.
You're probably right about that....but my guess would be that the internet, and most likely this forum, gave someone just enough information to be dangerous. Some of the older vintage hats only had the fraction listed on the tag...the 7 being implicit (I learned that here) thus the 58 (because Australia uses the metric system.... I did not learn that here) on the decidedly not modern looking size tag becomes 5/8 in the seller's mind's eye. No need to get out a tool and do any actual work when the information you need is printed right there on the tag.

And you may be totally correct but the Seller is a Russian living in Florida who said her "douther" didn't see the size tag or actually "meajure" anything.

I already have a return shipping label.

Get used to it. It's all part of this new country of diversity we live in.
I got zero trouble with diversity. It keeps the gene pool from getting stagnant. My well wishes were in your dealings with a disingenuous seller. If the tag was not looked at nor "meajurements" made then I dont understand how the size could be identified, much less misidentified. Did they just pull a number out of their ass? I hope they're not so mathematically challenged when it comes to your refund.

Well here's a quote from the listing which I find interesting in light of todays reply:

"Size is a 25" around it is about 8 - 8.5 Please check your circumference with a cloth tape before bidding. Check the chart for your size."

I never believed it could be as large as an 8.5 but thought I should be able to wear it. Then the admonition, please check...before bidding, even providing a chart. That's all a bit too much.

Even though the seller has a no returns policy, I never doubted she would take it back for a full refund. You can't sell a faberge egg & when it turns out to be a pantyhose egg, say "Sorry, I have a no returns policy".
