Stunning, Greg!

Really nice one, Cuz! The jacket and gators, too.
Gorgeous hat, and that jacket is superb as well, nicely matched!
Thank, gents, I really appreciate it. Glad it was finally cold enough down here to break the jacket out. Here’s a couple more pics showing yesterday’s outfit and a back shot of the jacket.

Here is a recently aquired Stetson Saddle Roll straw that was made in Japan. The Saddle Roll logo was registered in 1953. The 7 1/8 keyhole size tag I believe dates this to late 50’s early 60’s. Love the venting and color of the straw.

I see a sheepskin hat band in this hat’s future.

This Resistol Stagecoach doesn’t get worn much. From the early 1980’s macrame era the band was sewn on with fishing line & left holes when I removed it so I had to find a wide beaded band to cover them. Cra*ppy felt in the color Tanbark runs & stains when just damp from steam. I also had a black Stagecoach with the idea of cloning Kevin Costner’s hat from the movie Wyatt Earp, but it found its way into a dumpster in a dark alley.

Miller Fine Hats, Denver CO, 4X Quality, Protecto. Has a 4 inch bound brim and 6 1/2 inch open crown. The hatband is called a 2-tone laced band. I believe this model hat was made between about 1938 to about 1950, sometimes called a Ranger model or a Montanan model or a Tommy Grimes model, perhaps by mistake. I'm attaching seller photos til it arrives. I'm also attaching ads for this hat from 1938 to 1950.

Ads for the Miller hat. All are from Miller Stockman catalogs except the $7 ad, from Stockman Farmer catalog. From left to right, they date 1938, 1939-40, 1943-44, 1949, and 1950. It cost $5 in 1938 and basically $10 by 1950. The Stockman Farmer catalog that calls it a Tommy Grimes might be an error, because that name is usually given to another model hat shown right below this one on the other catalogs.
