Chilly day in Black Mountain, NC - but splendid lunch at the Berliner Kindl with my daughter!

Harris Tweed jacket, corduroy pants, Barry suede brogues, Portis hat and wool tie in Fraser (ancient hunting) tartan.

One word can describe you, Marla. Beautiful. ;)

    Happy belated Birthday.

  11. Fantastic. Looks like you stepped out of a Warner Bros. musical, c.1933...I will never understand why so many women today think that dressing down makes them attractive. (Of course, laziness plays a part in it, too.)

Nice Jielde lamp in the first image. Those sell for around £300 in London... Ironic because they were meant for the factories!

Wore my new contrasting collar and cuffs shirt today to church and out to lunch with family and friends, as seen in the avatar. Maybe I'll try my grey fedora with it, sometime. I'm only wearing it in the avatar as a sort of accessory to it, I didn't actually wear it today.

Paired a wild 1940s lounge jacket with some pastel colors today, along with vintage Florsheim shoes.

I got home from college to find two suits my dad wanted to hand down to me, including this nice Sears off-white three-piece. I wore all but the vest to church, later wishing I'd followed my own advice and not forgone the vest and tie at parental recommendation. So, adding those when I got home, I took a picture with the instrument I want to learn someday when I have a more predictable (and open) schedule.

The pants are a tad tight, but I think if I move my usual pants-pocket contents to the vest, it will look fine. Just based off when my dad was my size, this is probably a late '70s or early '80s suit.

  19. ^^Nice. Judging by the lapels, I'd say early-'80s.
