What's for Dinner?

I made one of those home style bake things: mashed potatoes, chicken, country gravy, and biscuits. Needs more salt.

It needed bacon.

Yes it did!
At the risk of being run out of the Lounge, I am ashamed to admit I have no bacon. I need to do some grocery shopping.
But I do have coffee, milk, and I made (yes, MADE) homemade chocolate syrup for iced mochas.

A shame yes, but not a crime.
Unless you ask James.
Then it's a tragedy.
If you are out of bacon AND coffee, it's a crisis.
I'm out of coffee sadly, drank the last of it today.
And Fresh Market doesn't open till 9am here.
Maybe I have some stashed I don't know about.

Nice! Get bacon--the medicinal kind.

I made a batch of chocolate chip muffins. MMMMMM MMMMMM I doubled the amount of chocolate chips too.

The only coffee I drink is iced mochas, homemade. I can't do hot coffee for some reason.

We have coffee but will need more.
We have a Keurig. Love it. We buy the K-cups but also have the reusable filter. Got it at a discount so it has paid for itself many times over.

I was about to mention the filter.
My sister has a few of those, because Kroger had them on sale one day.
They can either have the flavored coffee, or just regular like they used to make.
I haven't crossed over to those yet.
I'm happy with my Bunn, even though I only drink 6 cups a day.
My current Fresh Market coffee flavor is Café Noir.
It's a dark blend, with a smoky flavor but not burnt.
My guess is the coffee roaster smokes.
This is the description from a place called Steadman Corners Coffee.
I'm not sure if they make it and sell it to FM but it's possible.

Our darkest blend, rich smokey and complex yet smooth and not bitter. It is served and requested daily in our cafe by our discerning coffee customers.

I'd have to agree with James on this - being without bacon it TORTURE. :nod:
Coffee, on the other hand, is a whole different story. You probably know it as "greek" coffee, or "the unfiltered thing with it grounds set on the bottom of my cup":

I know.
Same thing I've said when I first saw filtered coffee; what is normal to me, might be strange to the rest of the word - that's because I live Behind God's back.

I was used to unfiltered for awhile, because I'd get my coffee at work, and the guy that made it couldn't filter it right.
We used to joke that with a little hot water, there were enough grounds (at the bottom) left for another cup. :eeek:

No, milk is baby food. You put cream in a White Russian and you put cream in espresso.

I use real cream in my coffee, and I eat hot sauce on most of my food.
That doesn't make me a baby.

Tonight it's burgers and Italian sausage (in a wrap with fresh spinach).
Pork rinds with Louisiana hot sauce added.
I heard they are good, so I'll try them.
