Oh, that sounds good. I've been meaning to cook some chicken wings.

Cubed steak, pan fried then slow simmered in brown gravy all afternoon til it was tender enough to cut with a spoon, mashed new potatoes, and fried cabbage with sauteed onions and bacon.

Last night, hanging out on the coast at one of our favorite pubs, Patterson’s (in Mendocino, CA) enjoying the company, the service (great people), the atmosphere, the Guinness on tap, the Best B.L.A.T. anywhere, superb garlic fries, and the high for the day of 68 degrees.

We are home from the coast, but the memories of clam chowder, the Best Carnitas Tacos ever, and of course the B.L.A.T. and many Guinness on tap make me smile. Just a light meal of salami, cheese, and crackers tonight followed by an Angry Orchard.

PB&J sandwich with fig preserves and chips.
Yesterday I picked the last of the summer figs...about 200. From the July fig harvest I've got a year's supply of preserves, spiced fig bread, fresh frozen figs, and dried figs in the deep freeze.
Now, I've got to figure out what to do with all these tomatoes!

Slow-cooked teriyaki pork chops, green beans, and sliced fried potatoes and cheesecake. Such a nice treat after a day of projects around the house.

Hey, y'all! Sorry to have been absent. Had a few vacations and gearing up for back to school (band camp first!) and have company coming tomorrow for five days and a new puppy (don't ask)!

Tonight: baked ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, corn, green beans.

Vacation or better yet, vacations are a great reason to be absent from anywhere.
Homemade macaroni and cheese is a treat! The rest of the meal sounds pretty darn good as well.
    Welcome back!

All of it sounds great, but throw in some Bacon and you have Magic.
