Sounds familiar. We have 3 people for dinner today, including my wife and myself. We agreed a limit of 10 dishes. I think our last list was nine, and I caught my wife making "something I thought we would try."

A lot! A Gordon Ramsey recipe turkey (wrapped with Bacon), oven cooked mac n' cheese, biscuits, salad, green beans, stuffing, mashed red potatoes, pumpkin pie, apple pie, gravy, cider, and a few Grey Goosed Moscow Mules. Oh yeah, all homemade! I am looking forward to leftovers today.

My dad was GM for the local Dr. Pepper Bottling plant.
The whole process was very interesting for me as a kid.
I could drink all the soda pop I wanted too.

The clinking of the glass bottles.
Fizzing carbonation. Stamping of bottle caps as
they traveled through the conveyor belt.
The heavy odor of sweet syrup.

My mom said it tasted like prune juice.

For me it was the "elixir of the gods".

Must be some mighty fine pie to justify no suds. Beer is nearly as essential to pizza as the cheese.

A couple of suds prior to a meal always opens up my appetite.
Although after a good serving of pizza pies.

I get thirsty & proceed to go for more brew
to quench my thirst.
And the whole process repeats itself.

Somewhere here is my New Year's resolution.
