Good looking jacket and the fit looks outstanding.
Have you any idea of the weight of this one in mid weight horse?
How long did it take Aero to produce your jacket? Very good addition, those 2 interior pockets.

Enjoy your new jacket!

Regards...........coffee

Thanks . . .

Thanks for all the nice comments -
Navin - its my fifth windward - want to wear one in all of the "5 Seasons":)
Yes - the lining is more purple rather than wine (bordeaux or bugundy)but looks luxury.
Ordered end of March purchased yesterday.

Regarding the weight its about 2kg - it feels - compared to my heavy FQHH jackets (3 kg) - MUCH lighter and comfy from the beginning - and for the "special purpose" to wear one of my AERO also in summer its great.

I can really recommend the rayon lining its a cool feeling and as many knows its "natural" cloth. I am glad with the od green oliv thread - give it a nice contrast. All of my jackets own the inside zippered pockets and it doesnt change the shape of the front.

Will post more pics after breaking in - must be very early with this nice jerky seal Horsehide!

Thanks

Another very nice jacket and an excellent fit, I gather you like this particular style :) I think the lining complements the color of the hide very well.

My last Aero (Californian) was also a medium weight jerky hide but in their russet color. It has a totally different look, smell and feel to their heavy front quarter (which is still my all time favorite hide) but it does make an ideal jacket for those days when it's just not quite cold enough for the heavy leather. Enjoy!

Cheers

Thanks Cooperson

Yes - I've seen your jerky russet HH californian and like it very much too!:eusa_clap
Maybe it was your pics which brought me to the decision for another windward in mid weight HH. It seems that I've found my perfect jacket style.
Today I am "fighting" with 37 C / 98 F and wearing my jacket only under my arms.
Thanks

Windward- how does the rayon lining compare to cotton drill
for insulation?

Feltfan - the rayon lining has a smooth and cool feeling - compared to the cotton drill which is much thicker and rougher ...
It is a joy to slip in and out of the jacket. All of my dress suits have rayon lining and therefore I go with this lining - I am not disappointed - you see me wearing my jacket while the temperature is about 98 F !

Thanks

Thanks. I like a satin lining, but it can be hot.
I guess Aero doesn't do satin for heavy FQHH,
but this could be an alternative.

Great jacket, BTW. There may be a Windward in my
future... For now I just hope to complete my transaction
for the Hercules I ordered at the beginning of January...

You wear a jacket when its 98F outside? :eusa_clap

Thought the only dude doing so is the bmw-guy.
It must be the smell of the leather or something, as I too am suffering from a similar affliction although not quite as severe here in the UK.
Perhaps they should come with some sort of health warning.
BTW a fine jacket Windward that lining looks well smart.

So feltfan, did you order your Hercules from Aero USA or from Scotland direct?

lol I like my new nickname "bmw-guy"... thanks. :D

I still say that the heat definitely helps the break-in process for the horsehide.

Very good :eusa_clap

That would take top spot in a thread titled:

How to convince your wife/girlfriend you need another Aero

Finally, someone that understands me. My ex-wife accused me of having a "jacket fetish" ... lol

Here in the State of Wisconsin, USA we have a couple more seasons to add to the list: January thaw, the dog days of August (hard to imagine wearing a jacket of any kind then), and of course deer season. :D
