Does the Fed IV work well with the brim turned down all around instead of just in the front? I know the Adventurer sold by David Morgan is made that way, but I'm not crazy about the colors or brim size on that one.

Here are a few pics of my ten year old Federation deluxe III. Not sure what you are long for. I just gave it a quick snap and there it is. It Didn't try to pop back up.

Hope that helps
Johnny

I can't see your pictures here at work, but my Fed III, also probably about 10 years old, is a well worn-in hat. Also, I have found the dimensions of the III and IV to be different enough to make the hats look quite different on my head. The III is bigger in all dimensions.

Playing around with my New Fed and I have the front pinch pretty much the way I like. I figure over time it'll form on its own.

I've been looking and looking some more at the diamond, which is what's on my CD and the first crease I went with on this hat.

Something happened and the two points of the diamond popped out and the Center Dent was there. So decided to try it.

I'm really liking it!

I didn't get the Fed because of Indy or anything like that. Not going for any styles or such. Just love hats.

Thoughts?

Tried to show the profile, so thought the natural light would do it. For some reason, really like this profile.

This is my highest crown yet! Not too tall is it?

I think it looks perfect and the proportions are fantastic on you

seems the hat is telling you what it wants ... and a good thing is that there really are no hard creases to you can change this crease whenever and not worry about a "ghost"

I think it looks fantastic from all angles ... and I particularly like that there really is no rake ... some hats look awesome that way ... the OR 25 I wore yesterday is like that ... it just doesn't want a rake

looks absolutely perfect ... I really really like that hat on you

that thing is YOU bro ... 100%

Thanks Moon. I was at first concerned about the rake. If I put some in it, then it touches my head. It just went like this.

I appreciate it!! Thanks!! :)

I have 3 Fed IVs, and they all want to revert to a center dent when I put them on my head, regardless of the shape I have pushed them into.

Although not an exact copy, the hat was created as an Indiana Jones style hat (with input from the creator of the hat from 'IJ and the KotCS'), so that crease is 'normal' for this hat.

I thought that the brim-turned-down-all-around was a cool look when I first got into hats, but after awhile I saw its limitations. I much prefer these days the way Cap's sporting his in the above photos.

I thought I would like a straight brim all the way around look, but the brim snapped down in the front looks best on me.

Thanks guys for all the compliments!!! I appreciate it.

I had read, in this thread I think, that this hat was modeled after one of the Indy hats. That might just be the reason it wants to crease in that way.....
