Your favorite hat marketing terms
I marvel at how some marketing terms get into a business and stay there. A good example is "genuine" shantung as though there were such a thing as "fake" shantung. Another favorite of mine is 100% wool. That might be good in the clothing business where a blend might include synthetics. But... -
Gray Homburg - 7 1/8
This Homburg was restored by Optimo in Chicago. It was cleaned, blocked and the binding and ribbon replaced. Looks like new. Probably 1940's. Manufacturer unknown. Sold by GM McKelvey & Co. You can have the hat for free. I only ask reimbursement for the $100 I spent on the restoration.- fmw

New Stetson 20X Bent Tree Straw Western Hat - 7 1/4
That's right, Podnuh! Brand new! Genu-wine Shantung paper straw body with ventilation woven right into the crown, 5" crown, 4" brim reducing to 3 3/4" at the sides, welted edge, mesh liner, leather sweat band. Marked size 7 1/4 and certainly way too big for my 7 1/8 thinking apparatus...- fmw
