Peacoat found
I have been looking for a peacoat and ran across this last night at an antique store. It is in great condition, no holes, tears, or moth bites. I wear a 42L but this fits fairly well. MKL pics:- MKL

Stetson that was up for bid
Did anyone here on the Lounge win the Stetson Royal De Luxe that was on eBay? The bid ended today 01-05-08. The hat came from the Palace store in Emporia, KS. Here is a pic of the sweatband: Thanks. -

Goatskin vs horsehide
What would be the advantages of one or the other - horsehide or goatskin? Do they age in looks about the same? I am not necessarily looking at a leather that will quickly turn into the vintage look. Thanks.- MKL

Resizing
I tried posting this earlier but I don't think it made it. What is the rule of thumb for resizing a hat? How much either way? Would it be correct to assume it would depend on the fabric? How is it done other than stretching to gain a larger size? I am obviously new at this. Thanks. -
Better fit.
What is a good or the best way of getting a hat to fit better? I own several 7 1/4's and my head is more of a 7 or 7 1/8. I have tried the felt strips behind the headband but they alway seem to cause the headband to become uneven all around. Any ideas? Thanks. -
