Michael Jackson died in L.A. today, apparent heart attack.

Sad. He is one year younger than I am, so I remember ALL his hits and shows. He was a true talent, no one can deny that. I did like his music.

I particularly liked his "Thriller" stuff....

God rest his soul.

The most famous hat wearer of my generation ...

.

... is dead. Michael Jackson (1958-2009), newsboy cap and fedora aficionado.

I genuinely feel sorry for him, because he's been through quite a lot these past two decades with the constant bad press and such. RIP.

To realize MJ was "50" already, really takes you back. Hopefully when all is said & done it will be determined that MJ passed of natural causes. Solid Citizen :(

Not to hijack or take away from this thread...but who watches MTV anymore...?

Well if they would still show videos....people would.

That said....it's like the 70's are dying....some of us grew up with both him and Farrah as daily parts of our lives as kids....

Whether you like the later crazyness or not.....he was a seminal performer and artist of our childhoods...those of us of a certain age bracket....even if you -think- you dont like his music.....you know -all- the words and music to jackson 5 songs.....and Thriller...if you say you don't....you are blocking it out or lying... ;)

May his family have peace and his children grow up to be fine humans.

Wow, I remember my family was a big Micheal Jackson fan. His music was always playing at our house. My mom even dressed my twin and I in matching Michael Jackson shirts.

An emotional trainwreck from what I hear, but you have to admire his talent and feel sympathy for the circumstances of his life. Rest in Peace, Michael. -M

He jumped the shark years ago...and kept jumping it over and over. Fame got the better of him worse than most.

I will remember him as the little ray of sunshine in the Jackson Five and not as the dissipated freakazoid he latterly became.
